Pictures from Jim Childre. This area to the right had about 30 or 40 one room cabins for bachlors two bunk in ,a heater , a cupboard and a small place to sit and write or read. One light bulb hanging in the middle of cabin and one receptacle.Firewood was available  at the wood shed, it remained with us for years, to house fire equipment. The present building was used as a Church, and then offices for the cook's house and commissary The commissary was run by Al Doyle the cook in the cook house was a large and wonderfull woman named Daggney a Norwegian or Swedish lady. They held a Christmas party for everyone for a few years .Then Lennard  Lockhart got in a fight with John Toomey and the  dinner was discontinued. It was well known that Mr. Gilchrist expected people to maintain self control if they were drinking or not.
The" Club" was open by then and most all such fuctions happend there. Mr. Gilchrist  had Christmas parties with a special guest list and appropriate behavior was expected by all who attended. These folk were usually foremen and thier wives and special friends of the family.I would like to start a list of all the original families as can be rememberd and let other folks add to it.
